§  Robert Sweeney - President

Bob Sweeney founded the company in 1987, providing general excavation services to residential homebuilders. He has spent the last 32 years building the company to one that is recognized as the premier provider of commercial services and residential site development with an emphasis on customer satisfaction, quality and professionalism. Bob has now grown Sweeney Excavation to not only provide excavation and concrete services, but has also incorporated specialty services such as paving and soil augmentation. With a focus on continuous improvement, Bob incorporates the use of technology to improve efficiency in all aspects of the business. From layout to machine control, electronic timecards and digital plans in the hands of every Foreman, Sweeney Excavation is consistently striving to find new ways to improve operations.

§  John Ford – VP of Field Operations

John has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. He oversees all operations, budget, schedule, procurement, and personnel on all Sweeney projects. His responsibilities include significant interaction with customers, coordination with other trades and utility companies along with state and local agencies.  He works closely with project supervisors to ensure that our scope of work is clearly understood. 

§  Jorge Sarango – Concrete Division Superintendent

Jorge manages a team of 15 craftsmen. He has been with Sweeney Excavation for 20 years, and working in the industry for 21 years.  Jorge currently oversees all concrete activities for several customers in different locations. He manages coordination of all personnel and concrete materials needed for a very aggressive schedule.

§ Kim Burns – Office Manager/Project Coordinator

Kim has worked in the commercial construction industry for more than 30 years coordinating, planning and supporting daily operating and administrative functions. Her responsibilities include interaction with customers, daily office operations, and project coordination support related tasks.

§  Jim Miller – Equipment Manager/Truck Dispatcher

Jim is responsible for the repair and maintenance of over 50 pieces of heavy equipment, valued at over $8M.  Jim supervises 5 full time mechanics and truck drivers. He has been with Sweeney Excavation since the company was formed over 30 years ago.
